We welcome new patients who live within our practice area to register with us. Please view the practice boundary here.

Anyone in England can register with a GP surgery. It's free to register. We ask all patients for proof of address and your NHS number if you have been registered in England, this is so we can register you correctly and obtain your NHS medical records.

You can obtain your NHS number from your previous surgery, or you can also find your NHS Number online via the NHS.UK website.

If you're homeless, you can give a temporary address, such as a friend's address or a day centre, or even our GP practice if necessary.

All temporary patients are not eligible for secondary care such as NHS referrals whilst not permanently registered at Ross Road Medical Centre. If you are struggling to complete the online registration form, please call into the surgery where we will be happy to print a registration pack for you.

NHS Organ Donor Registration

Organ donation in England has moved to an 'opt out' system. This means that all adults in England will be considered to have agreed to be an organ donor when they die unless they have recorded a decision not to donate or are in one of the excluded groups.

Supplementary Questions

Anybody in England can register with a GP practice and receive free medical care from that practice.

However, if you are not ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK you may have to pay for NHS treatment outside of the GP practice. Being ordinarily resident broadly means living lawfully in the UK on a properly settled basis for the time being. In most cases, nationals of countries outside the European Economic Area must also have the status of ‘indefinite leave to remain’ in the UK.

Some services, such as diagnostic tests of suspected infectious diseases and any treatment of those diseases are free of charge to all people, while some groups who are not ordinarily resident here are exempt from all treatment charges.
